Ayurveda Training Program - 2 weeks residential (150 hours)
The science of Yoga is very closely linked to the principles of Ayurveda. A student of Yoga should have a basic knowledge of Ayurveda to derive the full benefits of Yoga. Yoga as a whole is used as a health promoting and disease preventive science. The Ayurveda study in this program is meant for giving the student of Yoga an introduction to Ayurveda and the application of Ayurvedic principles in his or her daily life to maximize the health on a physical, mental, emotional, intellectual and spiritual level.to What is Ayurveda, Ayurveda Life style, Diet, Panch Karma, Useful Herbals, Analysis of Prakriti (Kafa, Pitta & Vata)
The course will include the following -
1. Introduction of Ayurveda and Ayurvedic terminology
2. Study of the basic concepts - Mind (Manas), Atma, Purusha and Prakriti
3. Fundamental principles of Ayurveda - Panchamahabhuta, Tridosha, Triguna, Dhatu, Mala and Agni
3. Detailed study of Doshas (Kapha, Vata, Pitta)
4. Dhatu, Upadhatu and Ojus: formation, function and nourishment, Concept of Sara
5. Mala: Purisha, Mutra, Sveda and Dhatumala: formation, function and excretion
6. Definition of health as per Ayurveda.
7. Introduction to Dinacarya and Ritucarya (Daily Lifestyle, seasonal lifestyle)
8. Ahara (Diet & nutrition): Definition, classification and significance
9. Study of diseases, Nidra (sleep)
10. Panchkarma (cleansing techniques in Ayurveda)
Practicals - Nasya (Nasal techniques), Shirodhara (Using Oil) , Herbal face packs, Ayurveda Massage, Analysis of Prakriti (Kafa, Pitta, Vata)
1. Assessment of Prakriti, Dosha, Dhatu, Agni, Koshtha, Sara, Nadi pariksha – Pulse examination
2. Panchkarma (cleansing techniques)
3. Marma Massage (energy point, meridian based massage from Ayureda)
4. Preparing nutritional Ayurvedic food
